Audi is expanding the basement at Böllinger Hoffe. And though the added space will, for the time being, house the painted bodies for both vehicles, it “will also be used for production” in the future. Just for what, though, it’s not saying just yet.
In the meantime, while the expansion is underway, Audi is testing the build processes using virtual-reality headsets and controllers. The automaker says this is the first time it’s been done, developed the software entirely in-house, and intends to apply the technology to further sites in the future.
